My name is Tanya Ellington.  I am a 5th grade teacher at Valley View Intermediate School.  This will be my eleventh year at Valley View.  I taught 3rd-6th grade computer lab for three years before moving to 5th grade.  I earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Arkansas State University in 1990.  After 15 years working in banking, I quit work to spend more time with family.  I started substitute teaching and found my passion in the classroom working with children.​​  This will be my eighth year as a certified teacher and I have loved every minute.

I am married to Scott Ellington.  He is the Prosecuting Attorney for the 2nd Judicial District.  We have three children, Jordan, Jack, and Bradley, one grandson, Aiden, and one dog, Kate.  I enjoy reading, cooking, running, and spending time with my family.  I also love supporting the ASU Red Wolves!  I am excited to begin a new school year and I believe we will have a wonderful and successful year.
